Public Ministry
"No sort of defense is needed for preaching out of doors, but it
would need very potent arguments to prove that a man has done
his duty who has never preached beyond the walls of his meeting
house. A defense is required for services within buildings than
for worship outside of them."
Charles Haddon Spurgeon
We agree with Mr. Spurgeon in the area of public ministry! The
ministry in Acts 20: 20 was "publickly and house to house." The
Apostle Paul was "in the market daily." Jesus' command to preach
upon the housetops (Matt. 10: 27) was not a prophecy about TV
antennaes receiving TBN or the 700 Club broadcasts. It was a
plea for his people to minister to the multitudes of unchurched
souls. who'll not step into a church building. We' ve had 25 years
experience going "into the highways and hedges" and would
enjoy getting churches started in public ministry.
